The Ohio Valley Chapter of the Historical Construction Equipment of America held its annual event on Sunday in Mingo Junction, marking the second year the show has been hosted at that location.
The rumble of vintage engines and the clank of heavy machinery drew visitors to Mingo Junction on Sunday as antique construction and mining equipment went on display for the public.
About seven machines were on display, giving visitors a close-up look at older equipment. Local vendors also set up for the two-day event, offering food and knickknacks while celebrating the history and impact of the machinery.
"I have the 941 Caterpillar I run, the D4 Caterpillar is my son and my brother's run up here. We've got a 305 Cat excavator," said Bill Flesher of the Historical Construction Equipment of America’s Ohio Valley Chapter. Flesher noted that the event focuses on showcasing machinery that resonates with visitors.
"Whatever is old and people like, that's what we like to have come out here," he said.
Organizers aim to keep passing down the tradition of operating antique machinery to younger generations and plan to add even more equipment next year.
