Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week: Brittney Burak
Indiana State women's cross country's Brittney Burak was named this week's Hannig Construction Indiana State Student-Athlete of the Week.
Burak, the top finisher for the Blue and White, led the team to victory in a stacked Under Armour Pre-National Invitational field, featuring three top 10 teams and nine ranked teams. Her 6k time of 20:50.9 was a personal best and the fastest ever run by a Sycamore at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
She became the first Sycamore to ever break 21 minutes in the 6k at LaVern Gibson, contributing to the team's defeat of regionally-ranked teams Ohio, Miami (Ohio), South Dakota State, and former MVC foe Loyola Chicago.
