Construction Begins on Casa Valor Family Crisis Center in Laredo

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Multiple agencies gathered to mark the start of construction on Casa Valor, a family crisis center designed to aid survivors of domestic violence. The center aims to bring investigators, nurses, and other essential services under one roof, streamlining access to help for survivors.
Police stated the center will consolidate resources, ensuring survivors have easy access to crucial services, including:
- Protective orders
- Legal advice from the DA
- Advocacy from the Casa de Misericordia domestic violence shelter
“We hope that this one-stop shop is going to help them get everything done and it’s going to be more beneficial to them,” said Norma Garcia.
Officials anticipate the center's opening to the public in December.
