Construction Moves Forward at Miramar Cove as Foundation Work Begins on First Rental Apartment Buildings - citybiz

Construction Progress at Miramar Cove

Construction is advancing at Miramar Cove, a 125-acre waterfront destination in Southwest Broward. The project is bringing 2,874 rental apartments and 400,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment to the area.

Crews have started foundation work, including footings and concrete bases, for the first two rental apartment buildings, with the first concrete pour already completed. The third building's foundation work will commence shortly, putting all three residential buildings under construction as planned.

The development's 5.5-acre cove is also taking shape, with utility and piping work in progress and equipment installation. This translucent blue water cove will serve as a focal point for the waterfront dining and entertainment district.

Apartment Buildings and Retail

The first building will house 358 rental units and approximately 42,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. The second building will offer 363 rental units and over 60,000 square feet of retail space dedicated to health, wellness, fashion, and daily needs, all along a pedestrian-friendly main street. Both buildings feature structured parking, ensuring convenience for shoppers and diners.

Phase I of Miramar Cove includes:

  • 1,062 rental apartments
  • Approximately 175,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment
  • 5.5-acre cove with Blue Mar Basin
  • Three modern water features
  • 185-key full-service hotel
  • Waterfront restaurant district with gondola rides
  • Walkable shopping street and restaurant row
  • Founders Park
  • Private beach and beach club for residents

"Seeing the first buildings take shape brings us closer to a vision we've had for Miramar for years," said Andy Ansin, CEO of Sunbeam Properties & Sunbeam Development. "As Southwest Broward grows, people need more places close to home... We want Miramar Cove to become a gathering place that brings people together."
