Construction Project Updates: Fall 2026

Current Projects

  • Quad Utility Tunnels: Phase two is nearing completion, and the area will be temporarily fenced off for winter. Restoration efforts will commence in the spring of 2027, with the final phase expected to finish in November 2027.
  • Steam Tunnel System: Work is progressing as scheduled, with no significant delays reported.
  • Heating Impacts: Eight buildings remain without steam heat, with restoration expected by October 20. These buildings will utilize geothermal heating during this period.

Completed Projects

  • SUB Dining Area: Renovations in the Westmark Student Union Building are complete, offering an enhanced dining experience.
  • Morrison Center Restroom Upgrades: Renovations are finished, improving accessibility and capacity.
  • Hemingway Center Mobility Hub: The new hub supports safer and more accessible transportation options across campus.
  • Greenbelt Improvements: The project between Friendship Bridge and Broadway Bridge is complete, enhancing the safety and appeal of this campus corridor.
  • West Stadium Lot: Improvements are finished, and the lot is now open for use.
  • Friendship Bridge and Chrisway Annex Landscaping: Enhancements are complete, adding to the aesthetics and functionality of these areas.
