Construction Workers Injured in Fall at Perigon Miami Beach Project Site
Three construction workers were injured after falling approximately 20 feet from a cherry picker at the Perigon Miami Beach construction site on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 5333 Collins Avenue around 2:50 p.m. according to WPLG. The development, a 17-story, 72-unit luxury condo building by Mast Capital and Starwood Capital Group, is expected to be completed next year.
Camilo Miguel Jr.'s Mast Capital, along with their partner Starwood, closed on a $390 million loan from Eldridge Real Estate Credit last year for the project. Moss & Associates is listed as the general contractor.
The development, designed by Rem Koolhaas’ OMA, includes a private beach club, oceanfront pools with cabanas, and a fitness center. Sales for the project launched in 2022 with Douglas Elliman leading the way.
This incident follows several other construction-related accidents in South Florida recently, including a partial facade collapse at a Witkoff building in North Beach and a drill rig collapse in Brickell.
