Disneyland's New Parking Structure Update

Construction on Disneyland’s new parking structure is expected to continue into early 2029, according to an update shared by Nexstar’s Scott Gustin on X.

Gustin shared, "Disneyland recently told nearby residents at a community meeting that construction impacts from the new Eastern Gateway parking structure are expected to continue into early 2029. The timeline was shared as an estimate for neighbors, but no opening timeline has been announced."

The new transportation hub will offer:

  • More than 6,000 parking spaces
  • Shuttle and rideshare areas
  • Dedicated traffic access from Disney Way

"From what I understand, the early 2029 timeline is not an announced opening date. Disneyland shared it with nearby residents to help set expectations for how long construction-related impacts could last, and the schedule could shift as work progresses," Gustin noted on X.

The project also includes:

  • A pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard leading to a new esplanade arrival experience
  • Public access to and from Harbor Boulevard

Disney previously stated that these enhancements are the first step in its next phase of construction, laying the groundwork for future growth and new experiences.

Future Developments at Disneyland:

  • Two new rides for Avengers Campus (opening in 2028)
  • A Coco-themed attraction for Pixar Pier
  • A reimagined Tomorrowland and an Avatar experience in development

The DisneylandForward proposal, a $1.9 billion expansion plan approved by the Anaheim City Council in 2024, guides future development over the next 40 years. The plan allows for new attractions, shops, and restaurants within existing Disneyland-owned areas.
