Girls in Construction Event Offers Kids Hands-on Look at Industry Careers
The Girls in Construction event provided an engaging experience for nearly 800 children interested in exploring careers within the construction industry. Held for the fifth year, this initiative aims to encourage more girls to consider these exciting paths.
During the event, participants had the chance to engage in various hands-on activities, such as:
- Building mini bridges
- Using power tools
- Learning about construction equipment operation
Organizers noted a significant increase in attendance from the event's inception, with approximately 100 children attending the first year to nearly 800 this year.
"Girls interested in construction, engineering and architecture had the chance to explore those careers firsthand," emphasized a representative.
The event showcased the collaborative efforts of industry partners dedicated to fostering interest and providing opportunities for young women in these fields.
