Inside Look: A's Las Vegas Strip Ballpark Dome Rises as Construction Advances

Massive steel arches, rising from the ground on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, offer a glimpse into the future home of the Las Vegas A’s. The $2 billion stadium, scheduled for completion in the spring of 2028, is expected to be ready for opening day.

During a tour of the construction site, team officials highlighted the unique features, including premium seating that has already generated strong interest. "As of this week, we’ve actually sold out of this club space," said Kelsey Bannister. "This space, you actually get the first six rows that are located right behind home plate."

The project, halfway completed, began with groundbreaking in June 2025. Project leaders attribute the schedule's on-track progress to the experienced local workforce, noting that many workers have previously contributed to notable projects like Allegiant and T-Mobile Arena.

Despite its substantial cost, the stadium will be smaller than typical Major League Baseball standards, with a capacity of 30,000. This intentional design aims to ensure packed houses for events. As Professor Bill Robinson from UNLV explains, "This is the smallest stadium in Major League Baseball, and it was designed that way on purpose to try to make sure it filled up."

The ballpark's versatility could make it a sought-after venue for various events throughout the year, filling a niche between the expense of Raider Stadium and Allegiant Stadium.

For those eager to explore, the A’s have established a "Ballpark Experience Center" at the Uncommons across from the Durango hotel, offering appointment-only tours through their website.
