Formula 1 brings high-speed excitement and economic impact to Southern Nevada, but tourists walking the Las Vegas Strip are feeling mixed emotions about ongoing race preparations.

Crews have been building massive viewing decks in front of the Bellagio Fountains, altering the iconic landmark's vantage point. Some visitors expressed disappointment, like Michaela and Grayson Tirey from Texas, who had planned to enjoy the fountain views.

“One of our favorite things to do is like sit down here and watch the fountain, so it’s a little disappointing we can’t walk down there and like watch it from that vantage point,” said Michaela.

Others, like Lucky Kioussis from Canada, found the construction frustrating as it blocked views along the Strip.

However, Seamus Keane from Ireland saw the activity as fitting for Las Vegas' energetic vibe.

“There’s a lot of things going on, but that’s what you’d associate Las Vegas with. Las Vegas is a town of vibrancy and energy, so you want like a good bit going on,” he said.

As the race approaches, visitors can expect sidewalk diversions, temporary structures, and modified views around Strip landmarks.
