The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is preparing drivers for several lane closures and traffic disruptions from Nov. 2-6 as they continue work on the Interstate 26 Connector project.
Here's what to expect:
-
Nov. 2-4 (Monday-Wednesday): The right lane of the Patton Avenue frontage road will be closed from Westgate Shopping Center to Jackson’s Western Store, and the Exit 2 ramp from Haywood Street to I-240/I-26 will be closed overnight for paving and curb removal.
-
Nov. 5 (Thursday): Flaggers will direct traffic for daytime paving on Hazel Mill Road between Emma Road and Richland Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Overnight work will include lane shifts and barrier installations on the Patton Avenue frontage road. A right-lane closure on I-240/I-26 near the Captain Jeff Bowen Bridge is planned from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for guardrail and wall installation.
-
Nov. 6 (Friday): This day is designated as a weather makeup day for paving on Hazel Mill Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NCDOT notes that schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
