FAIRVIEW CANYON, Utah — With winter approaching, crews are swiftly preparing Snowland for another ski season, including the construction of a new surface lift designed to broaden access to this historic Central Utah ski area.

Snowland Foundation Receives Special Use Permit

The Snowland Foundation recently secured a 40-year special use permit from the Manti-La Sal National Forest, paving the way for much-anticipated improvements to the resort.

"Last Friday we received our special use permit from the Manti-La Sal National Forest, enabling us to initiate the enhancements we've been planning," stated Brent Lange, chairman of the Snowland Foundation. "Previously, we've only been able to make minor adjustments; now, we can fully transform Snowland."

Work Begins on New Lift and Infrastructure

Construction has already commenced, focusing on preparing the parking lot, constructing a pad for a generator, and getting the ski run ready for the new lift.

Introduction of Ridgeline Express Surface Lift

The new 2,450-foot surface lift, named Ridgeline Express, is being supplied by European manufacturer Doppelmayr. This T-bar or J-bar system will operate alongside Snowland's existing rope tows, expanding access across approximately 107 acres. Its straightforward design also allows for reduced operational staffing.

Lange expressed hope that both lifts will be operational when the resort opens for the season.
