Wellness Center Construction Begins in Riverside This Month
The News reports that construction on the long-awaited Riverside Wellness Center is set to start this month, with a tentative groundbreaking ceremony planned for early November.
Garling Construction, a Cedar Rapids firm, secured a $10 million contract to build the center and is expected to begin work in the third week of October, aiming for a completion date of October 22nd.
During a recent city council meeting, Riverside Mayor Allen Schneider announced the plans, confirming a public ceremony will take place on the first Saturday of November (7th), marking a significant milestone in the project.
The Wellness Center, located near Highland Elementary School, was approved through a $8 million bond referendum voted on by Riverside residents in November 2025.
